My first tattoo!  I designed it myself, a sort of stylized outline of the state of Iowa with a heart in the northeast corner—right over Decorah.  Why Decorah/Iowa, you ask?  (You and everyone else… :-P)  Well, frankly, I love Decorah.  So many great memories, experiences and milestones in my life have occured here.  And so many of the people who are important to me now are connected to Decorah in some way.  Also, I know that I’m not going to be in Decorah forever, so I wanted a way to take a little piece with me.
Another great thing about this tattoo… My best friend (the infamous Paul) and I went and got our first tattoos together.  While we didn’t get matching tattoos (though it is a dream of mine to have matching tattoos with close friends and/or my sisters), we did both get tattoos that represented places and experiences that are important to us.  He got crossed sabers (a cavalry symbol) to commemorate his 8 years in the Army, while mine represents my 7 years living in Decorah.  I had such a great time and to share the experience with my best friend (whom I met in Decorah!) is something I will never forget.  Obviously.  Because tattoos are permanent.

Pregnant women are so fucking weird

wamiv:

it doesn’t look or seem at all natural to me. People growing inside of people. Being an animal is weird.

Agreed.  You will never, ever catch me growing another human being inside of me and then popping it out 9 months later.  Never.

I’m about to burst…

…because two of my closest, dearest friends just got engaged and I am so happy!  But I am also really bad at keeping exciting news a secret (which they maybe should have taken into consideration before making me the first person they told), so I am sharing the news here on Tumblr until they’ve told everyone and I can talk to more people about it!

So excited!

Dear Body,

This business of waking me up to poop at 6:30am EVERY MORNING regardless of what time I went to bed (and no matter if the last time I ate anything was at 6:30pm or 11pm) has got to go.  I mean, seriously.  I willing to be flexible with you on this poop schedule here, but you know I am not a morning person.  Also, it’s really hard to get any decent sleep in the following hour to 90 minutes before I actually have to be up for the day.  So, think about it and get back to me.  Thanks.

Hugs and Bunnies,
Sam Love
