Day 1: Your Favorite Song
I have a lot of favorite songs, so I turned to the trusty “Most Played” list on iTunes to find out what I’ve been listening to the most lately. Surprisingly, it wasn’t a Bruce tune.
“Don’t Stop Me Now” by Queen is my power ballad. Whenever I’m having a shitty day or just need a pick me up, I jump in the car and play this song as loud as I can. The words don’t always make sense, but the imagery is really great. That’s why it’s really fun to sign along to (and yes I do mean sign — like American Sign Language). Also, Queen is just freaking awesome. Freddie was an amazing performer… and classically trained to boot. None of the post-Freddie incarnations of Queen have ever really done it for me. I wish I had been around to see them perform live before Freddie passed on. So, yeah. Great song, even if it’s not a Bruce tune.
