Bruce Affair?

I wrote this long, passionate rant about how I don’t think Springsteen cheated on his wife, yadda yadda. But it didn’t save. Take a look at the link, and tell me what you think:

Do you think that Bruce cheated on Patti?

I really really want to believe that Bruce did NOT cheat on Patti, but I’ve been burned before.  ::cough cough:: John Edwards.  ::cough:: 

If you read the article from the NYPost that Perez links to, the details of the alleged affair seem a little iffy.  My reading of the “evidence” is that the romantical aspect of this woman’s relationship with Bruce was all in her head.  (i.e. Stalker much?  Having her friends tell her when Bruce was at the gym or Patti was out of town?  If they were really in the relationship with him that she thinks she was, she wouldn’t need to have people spy for her to get that information.)

Anyway… do I think he cheated on Patti?  No, I don’t.  Is that mainly because I think Bruce and Patti have one of the greatest love stories of the last century?  (Just watch the video for Tougher Than the Rest and you’ll know what I’m talking about.)  But like I said, I also thought John Edwards was the real deal, so I guess I’m leaving a small part of myself open to the possibility that this might be true.  (However unfortunate that may be.)
